Here’s a little peek at life lately, after the launch of “Amazing Missouri Animals.” This is the first book I’ve promoted as a mother of two. My last published book, “Forest Park: A Walk Through History” came out in March (yes, literally MARCH) of 2020. My son, Jack, was 13-months old at the time. Of course, during that book’s first year it was the height of the pandemic, and we weren’t doing events. I did lots of “virtual events” from my kitchen, with Jack toddling around in the other room. Now, six years later it’s a whole new ballgame. So far merging motherhood + book promotion + working full time has gone…well? I think? At least I am having fun! Of course, I owe a great debt of gratitude to my husband, our parents, and my friends who have supported me and my family along the way. Six years after the literally “uneventful” release of “Forest Park,” that book still has legs. Here’s to hoping this more celebratory approach to “Amazing Missouri Animals” blesses this book with a long shelf life, eager readers, and many more author visits accompanied by my trusty sidekick, Jake the Snake!
